GLORIALITURGY

As we celebrate and offer our daily offerings in our daily Mass on God's Altar in remembrance of Christ Sacrifice, may God destroy every evil altar in our homes, families and lives.

PENTECOST SUNDAY

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met in one room,
when suddenly they heard what sounded like a powerful wind
from heaven, the noise of which filled the entire house in which
they were sitting; and something appeared to them that seemed
like tongues of fire; these separate and came to rest on the head
of each of them.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak
foreign languages as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech.

WHAT CONCERN IS IT OF YOURS

Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved,
the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper
and said, "Master, who is the one who will betray you?"

When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about him?"
Jesus said to him, "What if I want him remain until I come?
What concern is of yours? You follow me."

So the word spread among the brothers that, that disciple
would not die.  But Jesus had not told him that he would
not die, just "What if I want him to remain until I come?
What concern is it of yours?"
It is this disciple who testifies to these things and written them, and we know that his testimony is true.  There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written. Mass Reading

LORD YOU KNOW EVERYTHING

Jesus showed himself to his disciples and after they had eaten he said to
Simon Peter, 'Simon son of John, do you love me more that these others
do? He answered, 'Yes Lord, you know I love you.' Jesus said to him,
'Feed my lambs.' A second time he said to him, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' He replied, 'Yes, Lord, you know I love you'. Jesus said to him, 'Look after my sheep'.

Then he said to him a third time, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' Peter was upset that he asked him the third time, 'Do you love me?' and said, 'Lord, you know everything; you know I love you'. Jesus said to him,
'Feed my sheep......... John 21:15-19

MAY WE BE ONE LORD

Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said:
'Holy Father, I pray not only for these, but for those also who
through their words will believe i me.
May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you
are in me an I am in you, so that the world may believe it was
you who sent me.

I have given them the glory you gave me, that they may be one as we are one.

With me in thme and you in me, may they also be so comepletely one that the world will realise that it was you who sent me and that I have loved them
as much as you loved me .......

KEEP THOSE YOU HAVE GIVEN ME

Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said:
'Holy Father, keep those you have given
me true to your name, so that they may
be one like us.
While I was with them, I kept those
you had given me true to your name.
I have watched over them and not
one is lost except the one who chose
to be lost, and this was to fulfil the
scriptures.

But now I am coming to you and
while still in the world I say these things
to share my joy with them to the full.
I passed your word on to them, and
the world hated them, because they
belong to the world no more than
I belong to the world......  Mass Reading

CHRIST PRIESTLY PRAYER

Saint Philip Neri
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come.
Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you, juas as you
gave him authority over all people, so that your son may give eternal
life to all you gave him. 'Now this is eternal life, that they should know
you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.
Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before
the world began.....

I HAVE CONQUERED THE WORLD

The disciples said to Jesus, "Now you are talking plainly, and not in any figure of speech. Now we realize that you know everything and that you do not need to have anyone question you. Because of this we believe that you came from God." Jesus answered them, "Do you believe now? Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived when each of you will be scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone. But I am not alone, because the Father is with me. I have told you this so that you might have peace in me.  In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world."

THE UPPER ROOM

7TH SUNDAY OF EASTER
After Jesus had been taken up to heaven the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the mount callet Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away.

When they entered the city they went to the upper room where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.

All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

LOVE OF THE FATHER

Jesus said to his disciples:"Amen, amen, I say to you,
whatever you ask the Father in my name I will give you.
Until now you have not asked anything in my name;
ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

"I have told you this in figures of speech. The hour is
coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures
but I will tell you clearly about the Father.

On that day you will ask in my name, and I do not tell you that
I will ask the Father for you. For the Father himself loves you,
because you have loved me and have come to believe that I
came from God. I came from the Father and have come into the world. Now I am
leaving the world and going back to the Father." John 16:23b-28

ASK IN MY NAME

John said to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.

When a woman is in labour, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because her joy that a child has been born into the world.

So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. On that day you will not question me about anything.

Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you."

ASCENSION JESUS CHRIST

The eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus
had arranged to meet them.  When they saw him they fell down before
him, though some hesitated.  Jesus came up and spoke to them.
He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptise them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teach them to observe all the commands I gave you.
And know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.'

SPIRIT OF TRUTH

Jesus said to his disciples:
'I still have many things to say to you
but they would be too much for you now.
But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will
lead you to the complete truth, sine he
will not be speaking as from himself but
will say only what he has learnt;
and he will tell you of the things to come.
He will glorify me, since all he tells you will
be taken from what is mine.
Everything the Father has is mine, that
is why I said:
All he tells you will be taken from what is mine.'

LORD SEND US THE ADVOCATE

Jesus said to his disciples:
'Now I am going to the one who sent me.
Not one of you has asked, "Where are you going?"
Yet you are sad at heart because I have told you this.
Still, I must tell you the truth:
it is for your own good that I am going
because unless I go, the Advocate will not come to you;
but if I do go,  I will send him to you.
And when he comes, he will show the world
how wrong it was about sin, and about who was right,
and about judgement: about sin: proved by their refusal to believe in me;
about who was in the right: proved by my going to the Father and your
seeing me no more; about judgement: proved by the prince of this world being already condemned. John 16"5-11 Mass Readings for today

THE ADVOCATE

Jesus said to his disciples:
"When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,
the spirit of truth who proceed from the Father, he will testify to me.
And you also testify, because you have been with me from the
beginning.

"I have told you this so that you may not fall away".

They will expel you from the synagogues; in fact, the
hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think
he is offering worship to God.
They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me.
I have told you this so that when the hour comes, you may remember that I told you."
John 15:26-16:4a

BELIEVE GOD'S WORD

Collect

Grant, almighty God, that we may celebrate with heartfelt
devotion these days of joy, which we keep in honor of the risen
Lord, and that we relive in remembrance we may always hold to
in what we do.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and
reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God
for ever and ever. Amen

Jesus said to his disciples: "if you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows him.

But you know him, because he remains with you, and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realise that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.

Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me.  And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him".
