As we celebrate and offer our daily offerings in our daily Mass on God's Altar in remembrance of Christ Sacrifice, may God destroy every evil altar in our homes, families and lives.

ST. SIMON AND JUDE

St. Simon and Jude (martyrs)were Apostles of Jesus Christ.  Their feast is celebrated today 28th October, 2015.

They died of their conviction and their faith in Jesus Christ.  They preached the good news about Jesus Christ they were his apostles.

Today's liturgical color is RED.  Christ's Apostles, Disciples, and early converts by His apostles were called CHRISTIAN because of their behavior.

Christians are expected to follow the step of their Master Jesus Christ for he said if they the disciples listened to him, and do what he asked them to do that all men will know that they are HIS.

This first post will be on the colour used during the season of  Ordinary Time.  In the liturgical calendar we use White, Red, Purple and Green. This is to draw your attention and awaken your interest.  Most Catholics do not know when these colours are used.

The Altar Colour used during ordinary time is green.  The celebrant (the Priest) equally wears green.

CATHOLIC ALTAR AND LITURGY; WELCOME TO GLORIA'S BLOG

The idea of this blog is to enable Catholics appreciate and learn more about the Catholic liturgical calendar of the various seasons.  Most time at Mass we see different colors used on the Altar, I believe most Catholics do not know the reason.  This is to get them interested. I know that as a catholic the most striking object when you enter the Church is the Altar and its decoration.

The Altar decoration is to encourage Catholics who maybe interested in decorating their Parish Altars.
