Mon Âme proclame la grandeur du Seigneur 

Lecture du livre du prophète Sophonie 3, 14-18 « Le roi d’Israël, le Seigneur, est en toi »

Pousse des cris de joie, fille de Sion ! Éclate en ovations, Israël ! Réjouis-toi, de tout ton cœur bondis de joie, fille de Jérusalem ! Le Seigneur a levé les sentences qui pesaient sur toi, il a écarté tes ennemis. Le roi d’Israël, le Seigneur, est en toi. Tu n’as plus à craindre le malheur. Ce jour-là, on dira à Jérusalem : « Ne crains pas, Sion ! Ne laisse pas tes mains défaillir ! Le Seigneur ton Dieu est en toi, c’est lui, le héros qui apporte le salut. Il aura en toi sa joie et son allégresse, il te renouvellera par son amour ; il exultera pour toi et se réjouira, comme aux jours de fête. » J’ai écarté de toi le malheur, pour que tu ne subisses plus l’humiliation.

Évangile selon saint Luc 1, 39-56

« D’où m’est-il donné que la mère de mon Seigneur vienne jusqu’à moi ? »

En ces jours-là, Marie se mit en route et se rendit avec empressement vers la région montagneuse, dans une ville de Judée. Elle entra dans la maison de Zacharie et salua Élisabeth. Or, quand Élisabeth entendit la salutation de Marie, l’enfant tressaillit en elle. Alors, Élisabeth fut remplie d’Esprit Saint, et s’écria d’une voix forte : « Tu es bénie entre toutes les femmes, et le fruit de tes entrailles est béni. D’où m’est-il donné que la mère de mon Seigneur vienne jusqu’à moi ? Car, lorsque tes paroles de salutation sont parvenues à mes oreilles, l’enfant a tressailli d’allégresse en moi. Heureuse celle qui a cru à l’accomplissement des paroles qui lui furent dites de la part du Seigneur. » RC

Marie dit alors : « Mon âme exalte le Seigneur, exulte mon esprit en Dieu, mon Sauveur ! Il s’est penché sur son humble servante ; désormais tous les âges me diront bienheureuse. Le Puissant fit pour moi des merveilles ; Saint est son nom ! Sa miséricorde s’étend d’âge en âge sur ceux qui le craignent. Déployant la force de son bras, il disperse les superbes. Il renverse les puissants de leurs trônes, il élève les humbles. Il comble de biens les affamés, renvoie les riches les mains vides. Il relève Israël son serviteur, il se souvient de son amour de la promesse faite à nos pères, en faveur d’Abraham et sa descendance à jamais. »

Marie resta avec Élisabeth environ trois mois, puis elle s’en retourna chez elle.

Dieu mon Père Je loue ton Saint Nom en disant : « En vérité, Dieu est mon salut, j’ai confiance, je n’aurai pas peur. Car le Seigneur est ma force, mon chant, il est devenu mon sauveur. Avec joie, vous puiserez de l’eau dans les puits du salut. Rendez grâce au Seigneur, louez son nom ! Faites connaître ses actes puissants aux peuples! Déclarez la grandeur de son nom. Chantez un psaume au Seigneur car il a fait des œuvres glorieuses ; Faites-les connaître à toute la terre ! Peuple de Sion, chante et crie de joie, car grand au milieu de toi est le Saint d’Israël.

Jésus, j’ai confiance en toi. La Vierge Marie prie pour moi. Saint Joseph prie pour moi. Les anges et les saints de Dieu prient pour moi. Mon Ange Gardien prie pour moi.

My Soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord

Reading Zephaniah 3:14-18 The Lord, the king of Israel, is in your midst

Shout for joy, daughter of Zion, Israel, shout aloud! Rejoice, exult with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has repealed your sentence; he has driven your enemies away. The Lord, the king of Israel, is in your midst; you have no more evil to fear.  When that day comes, word will come to Jerusalem: Zion, have no fear, do not let your hands fall limp. The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult with joy over you, he will renew you by his love; he will dance with shouts of joy for you as on a day of festival.

Gospel Luke 1:39-56 The Almighty has done great things for me

Mary set out and went as quickly as she could to a town in the hill country of Judah. She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Now as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? For the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.’ CDR

And Mary said: ‘My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit exults in God my saviour; because he has looked upon his lowly handmaid. Yes, from this day forward all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name, and his mercy reaches from age to age for those who fear him. He has shown the power of his arm, he has routed the proud of heart. He has pulled down princes from their thrones and exalted the lowly. The hungry he has filled with good things, the rich sent empty away. He has come to the help of Israel his servant, mindful of his mercy – according to the promise he made to our ancestors – of his mercy to Abraham and to his descendants for ever.’

Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months and then went back home.

God my Father I praise your Holy Name and I say "Truly, God is my salvation, I trust, I shall not fear. For the Lord is my strength, my song, he became my saviour. With joy you will draw water  from the wells of salvation. Give thanks to the Lord, give praise to his name!   Make his mighty deeds known to the peoples!   Declare the greatness of his name. Sing a psalm to the Lord   for he has done glorious deeds; make them known to all the earth! People of Zion, sing and shout for joy, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel."

Lecture Ben Sira le Sage 35, 1-15

« C’est offrir un sacrifice de paix que s’attacher aux commandements »

C’est présenter de multiples offrandes que d’observer la Loi ; c’est offrir un sacrifice de paix que s’attacher aux commandements. C’est apporter une offrande de fleur de farine que se montrer reconnaissant ; c’est présenter un sacrifice de louange que faire l’aumône. On obtient la bienveillance du Seigneur en se détournant du mal ; on offre un sacrifice d’expiation en se détournant de l’injustice. Ne te présente pas devant le Seigneur les mains vides. Accomplis tout cela car tel est son commandement.

L’offrande de l’homme juste est comme la graisse des sacrifices sur l’autel, son agréable odeur s’élève devant le Très-Haut. Le sacrifice de l’homme juste est agréé par Dieu qui en gardera mémoire. Rends gloire au Seigneur sans être regardant : ne retranche rien des prémices de ta récolte. Chaque fois que tu fais un don, montre un visage joyeux ; consacre de bon cœur à Dieu le dixième de ce que tu gagnes. Donne au Très-Haut selon ce qu’il te donne, et, sans être regardant, selon tes ressources. Car le Seigneur est celui qui paye de retour ; il te rendra sept fois plus que tu n’as donné.

N’essaye pas de l’influencer par des présents, il ne les acceptera pas ; ne mets pas ta confiance dans un sacrifice injuste. Car le Seigneur est un juge qui se montre impartial envers les personnes. 

Évangile Marc 10, 28-31 

« Vous recevrez, en ce temps déjà, le centuple, avec des persécutions,

et, dans le monde à venir, la vie éternelle »

En ce temps-là, Pierre se mit à dire à Jésus : « Voici que nous avons tout quitté pour te suivre. » Jésus déclara : « Amen, je vous le dis : nul n’aura quitté, à cause de moi et de l’Évangile, une maison, des frères, des sœurs, une mère, un père, des enfants ou une terre sans qu’il reçoive, en ce temps déjà, le centuple : maisons, frères, sœurs, mères, enfants et terres, avec des persécutions, et, dans le monde à venir, la vie éternelle. RC 

Beaucoup de premiers seront derniers, et les derniers seront les premiers. »

Père aimant, mon Dieu donne-moi un cœur généreux pour que je te donner le Très-Haut comme tu m’as donné. Accepte mes offrandes en observant ta Loi. Puis-je offrir les sacrifices de la communion en suivant tes commandements.

Je t’offre ma gratitude comme des sacrifices de louanges. Je t’offre mon talent, mon temps et mon trésor. Donne-moi un cœur pure libre de méchanceté. Puis-je rechercher la justice et faire l’expiation chaque fois que je m’écarte de tes commandements.

Père je t’offre tout ce que j’ai, tout mon être en sincérité de cœur car tu mérites tout Honneur. Père je te remercie pour ta générosité. Seigneur merci pour ta bonté.

Seigneur Jésus, j’ai confiance en toi. La Vierge Marie prie pour moi. Saint Joseph prie pour moi. Les anges et les saints de Dieu prient pour moi. Mon Ange Gardien prie pour moi. Guide-moi. Protège-moi.

Reading Ecclesiasticus 35:2-15 Give to the Most High as he has given to you

A man multiplies offerings by keeping the Law; he offers communion sacrifices by following the commandments. By showing gratitude he makes an offering of fine flour, by giving alms he offers a sacrifice of praise. Withdraw from wickedness and the Lord will be pleased, withdraw from injustice and you make atonement. Do not appear empty-handed in the Lord’s presence; for all these things are due under the commandment.

A virtuous man’s offering graces the altar, and its savour rises before the Most High. A virtuous man’s sacrifice is acceptable, its memorial will not be forgotten.  Honour the Lord with generosity, do not stint the first-fruits you bring. Add a smiling face to all your gifts, and be cheerful as you dedicate your tithes. Give to the Most High as he has given to you, generously as your means can afford; for the Lord is a good rewarder, he will reward you seven times over. 

Offer him no bribe, he will not accept it, do not put your faith in an unvirtuous sacrifice; since the Lord is a judge who is no respecter of personages. 

Gospel Mark 10:28-31 Whoever has left everything for the sake of the gospel will be repaid

At that time Peter began to tell Jesus, ‘What about us? We have left everything and followed you.’ Jesus said, ‘I tell you solemnly, there is no one who has left house, brothers, sisters, father, children or land for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not be repaid a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and land – not without persecutions – now in this present time and, in the world to come, eternal life.  CDR

‘Many who are first will be last, and the last first.’ 

Loving Father, my God give me a generous heart to give to you the Most High as you have given to me. Accept my offerings in keeping your Law. May I offer the sacrifices of communion by following your commandments. 

I make my offering of gratitude to you as I offer you sacrifice of praise. I offer you  my talent, time and treasure. Give me a pure hear free from wickedness. May I pursue justice, and make atonement whenever I stray from your commandments. 

Father I offer you all that have, all my being in sincerity of heart for you Most High God deserves all Honor. Father I thank you for your generosity. Lord thank you for your goodness. 

Lord Jesus I trust in you. Virgin Mary pray for me. Saint Joseph pray for me. God’s Angels and Saints pray for me. My Guardian Angel pray for me. Guide me. Protect me.

« Voici ta mère » 

Lecture Genèse 3, 9-15.20 « La mère de tous les vivants »

Quand Adam eut mangé du fruit de l’arbre, le Seigneur Dieu l’appela et lui dit : « Où es-tu donc ? » L’homme répondit : « J’ai entendu ta voix dans le jardin, j’ai pris peur parce que je suis nu, et je me suis caché. » Le Seigneur reprit : « Qui donc t’a dit que tu étais nu ? Aurais-tu mangé de l’arbre dont je t’avais interdit de manger ? » L’homme répondit : « La femme que tu m’as donnée, c’est elle qui m’a donné du fruit de l’arbre, et j’en ai mangé. » 

Le Seigneur Dieu dit à la femme : « Qu’as-tu fait là ? » La femme répondit : « Le serpent m’a trompée, et j’ai mangé. » Alors le Seigneur Dieu dit au serpent : « Parce que tu as fait cela, tu seras maudit parmi tous les animaux et toutes les bêtes des champs. Tu ramperas sur le ventre et tu mangeras de la poussière tous les jours de ta vie. Je mettrai une hostilité entre toi et la femme, entre ta descendance et sa descendance : celle-ci te meurtrira la tête, et toi, tu lui meurtriras le talon. » L’homme appela sa femme Ève (c’est-à-dire : la vivante), parce qu’elle fut la mère de tous les vivants.

Évangile Jean 19, 25-34 « Voici ton fils. Voici ta mère » 

En ce temps-là, près de la croix de Jésus se tenaient sa mère et la sœur de sa mère, Marie, femme de Cléophas, et Marie Madeleine. Jésus, voyant sa mère, et près d’elle le disciple qu’il aimait, dit à sa mère : « Femme, voici ton fils. » Puis il dit au disciple : « Voici ta mère. » Et à partir de cette heure-là, le disciple la prit chez lui. RC

Après cela, sachant que tout, désormais, était achevé pour que l’Écriture s’accomplisse jusqu’au bout, Jésus dit : « J’ai soif. » Il y avait là un récipient plein d’une boisson vinaigrée.

On fixa donc une éponge remplie de ce vinaigre à une branche d’hysope, et on l’approcha de sa bouche. Quand il eut pris le vinaigre, Jésus dit : « Tout est accompli. » Puis, inclinant la tête, il remit l’esprit.

Comme c’était le jour de la Préparation (c’est-à-dire le vendredi), il ne fallait pas laisser les corps en croix durant le sabbat, d’autant plus que ce sabbat était le grand jour de la Pâque. Aussi les Juifs demandèrent à Pilate qu’on enlève les corps après leur avoir brisé les jambes. Les soldats allèrent donc briser les jambes du premier, puis de l’autre homme crucifié avec Jésus. Quand ils arrivèrent à Jésus, voyant qu’il était déjà mort, ils ne lui brisèrent pas les jambes, mais un des soldats avec sa lance lui perça le côté ; et aussitôt, il en sortit du sang et de l’eau.

Dieu le plus saint de vous dit des choses glorieuses, ô ville de Dieu ! Sur la montagne sainte se trouve sa ville chérie par le Seigneur. Le Seigneur préfère les portes de Sion à toutes les demeures de Jacob. « Sion sera appelée « Mère » car tous seront ses enfants. » C’est lui, le Seigneur Très-Haut, qui donne à chacun sa place. Dans son registre des peuples, il écrit : « Ce sont ses enfants », et pendant qu’ils dansent, ils chantent : « En vous tous trouvez leur maison ».

Seigneur Jésus, j’ai confiance en toi. La Vierge Marie prie pour moi. Saint Joseph prie pour moi. Les anges et les saints de Dieu prient pour moi. Mon Ange Gardien prie pour moi. Protégez-moi.

‘This is your mother.’

Reading Genesis 3:9-15,20 The mother of all those who live

After Adam had eaten of the tree the Lord God called to him. ‘Where are you?’ he asked. ‘I heard the sound of you in the garden;’ he replied ‘I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.’ ‘Who told you that you were naked?’ he asked ‘Have you been eating of the tree I forbade you to eat?’ The man replied, ‘It was the woman you put with me; she gave me the fruit, and I ate it.’ Then the Lord God asked the woman, ‘What is this you have done?’ The woman replied, ‘The serpent tempted me and I ate.’

Then the Lord God said to the serpent, ‘Because you have done this, ‘Be accursed beyond all cattle, all wild beasts. You shall crawl on your belly and eat dust every day of your life. I will make you enemies of each other: you and the woman, your offspring and her offspring. It will crush your head and you will strike its heel.’

The man named his wife ‘Eve’ because she was the mother of all those who live.

Gospel John 19:24-34 'Behold your son. Behold your mother.'

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple he said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home.  CDR

After this, Jesus knew that everything had now been completed, and to fulfil the scripture perfectly he said, ‘I am thirsty.’ 

A jar full of vinegar stood there, so putting a sponge soaked in the vinegar on a hyssop stick they held it up to his mouth. After Jesus had taken the vinegar he said, ‘It is accomplished’; and bowing his head he gave up his spirit. 

It was Preparation Day, and to prevent the bodies remaining on the cross during the sabbath – since that sabbath was a day of special solemnity – the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken away. Consequently the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with him and then of the other. When they came to Jesus, they found he was already dead, and so instead of breaking his legs one of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance; and immediately there came out blood and water. 

God most Holy of you are told glorious things, O city of God! On the holy mountain is his city  cherished by the Lord. The Lord prefers the gates of Zion   to all Jacob’s dwellings. ‘Zion shall be called “Mother” for all shall be her children.’ It is he, the Lord Most High, who gives each his place. In his register of peoples, he writes: ‘These are her children,’ and while they dance they will sing: ‘In you all find their home.’ 

Lord Jesus I trust in you. Virgin Mary pray for me. Saint Joseph pray for me. God’s Angels and Saints pray for me. My Guardian Angel pray for me. Protect me.

1er Lecture  Actes 2, 1-11 

« Tous furent remplis d’Esprit Saint et se mirent à parler en d’autres langues »

Quand arriva le jour de la Pentecôte, au terme des cinquante jours après Pâques, ils se trouvaient réunis tous ensemble. Soudain un bruit survint du ciel comme un violent coup de vent : la maison où ils étaient assis en fut remplie tout entière. Alors leur apparurent des langues qu’on aurait dites de feu, qui se partageaient, et il s’en posa une sur chacun d’eux. Tous furent remplis d’Esprit Saint : ils se mirent à parler en d’autres langues, et chacun s’exprimait selon le don de l’Esprit.

Or, il y avait, résidant à Jérusalem, des Juifs religieux, venant de toutes les nations sous le ciel. Lorsque ceux-ci entendirent la voix qui retentissait, ils se rassemblèrent en foule. Ils étaient en pleine confusion parce que chacun d’eux entendait dans son propre dialecte ceux qui parlaient. Dans la stupéfaction et l’émerveillement, ils disaient : « Ces gens qui parlent ne sont-ils pas tous galiléens ? Comment se fait-il que chacun de nous les entende dans son propre dialecte, sa langue maternelle ? Parthes, Mèdes et Élamites, habitants de la Mésopotamie, de la Judée et de la Cappadoce, de la province du Pont et de celle d’Asie, de la Phrygie et de la Pamphylie, de l’Égypte et des contrées de Libye proches de Cyrène, Romains de passage, Juifs de naissance et convertis, Crétois et Arabes, tous nous les entendons parler dans nos langues des merveilles de Dieu. »

Seconde lecture  Corinthiens 12, 3b-7.12-13

« C’est dans un unique Esprit que nous tous avons été baptisés pour former un seul corps »

Frères, personne n’est capable de dire : « Jésus est Seigneur » sinon dans l’Esprit Saint. Les dons de la grâce sont variés, mais c’est le même Esprit. Les services sont variés, mais c’est le même Seigneur. Les activités sont variées, mais c’est le même Dieu qui agit en tout et en tous. À chacun est donnée la manifestation de l’Esprit en vue du bien.

Prenons une comparaison : le corps ne fait qu’un, il a pourtant plusieurs membres ; et tous les membres, malgré leur nombre, ne forment qu’un seul corps. Il en est ainsi pour le Christ. C’est dans un unique Esprit, en effet, que nous tous, Juifs ou païens, esclaves ou hommes libres, nous avons été baptisés pour former un seul corps. Tous, nous avons été désaltérés par un unique Esprit.

Évangile selon saint Jean 20, 19-23 

« De même que le Père m’a envoyé, moi aussi je vous envoie : recevez l’Esprit Saint » 

C’était après la mort de Jésus ; le soir venu, en ce premier jour de la semaine, alors que les portes du lieu où se trouvaient les disciples étaient verrouillées par crainte des Juifs, Jésus vint, et il était là au milieu d’eux. Il leur dit : « La paix soit avec vous ! » Après cette parole, il leur montra ses mains et son côté. Les disciples furent remplis de joie en voyant le Seigneur. Jésus leur dit de nouveau : « La paix soit avec vous !  RC

De même que le Père m’a envoyé, moi aussi, je vous envoie. » Ayant ainsi parlé, il souffla sur eux et il leur dit : « Recevez l’Esprit Saint. À qui vous remettrez ses péchés, ils seront remis ; à qui vous maintiendrez ses péchés, ils seront maintenus. »

Bénis le Seigneur, ô mon âme ; Seigneur mon Dieu, tu es si grand ! Quelle profusion dans tes œuvres, Seigneur ! La terre s’emplit de tes biens. Tu reprends leur souffle, ils expirent et retournent à leur poussière. Tu envoies ton souffle : ils sont créés ; tu renouvelles la face de la terre.  Gloire au Seigneur à tout jamais ! Que Dieu se réjouisse en ses œuvres ! Que mon poème lui soit agréable ; moi, je me réjouis dans le Seigneur.  Psaume

First Reading Acts 2:1-11 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met in one room, when suddenly they heard what sounded like a powerful wind from heaven, the noise of which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and something appeared to them that seemed like tongues of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak foreign languages as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech. 

Now there were devout men living in Jerusalem from every nation under heaven, and at this sound they all assembled, each one bewildered to hear these men speaking his own language. They were amazed and astonished. ‘Surely’ they said ‘all these men speaking are Galileans? How does it happen that each of us hears them in his own native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; people from Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya round Cyrene; as well as visitors from Rome – Jews and proselytes alike – Cretans and Arabs; we hear them preaching in our own language about the marvels of God.’

Second Reading 1 Corinthians 12:3b-7, 12-13 In the one Spirit we were all baptised

No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ unless he is under the influence of the Holy Spirit. 

There is a variety of gifts but always the same Spirit; there are all sorts of service to be done, but always to the same Lord; working in all sorts of different ways in different people, it is the same God who is working in all of them. The particular way in which the Spirit is given to each person is for a good purpose. 

Just as a human body, though it is made up of many parts, is a single unit because all these parts, though many, make one body, so it is with Christ. In the one Spirit we were all baptised, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as citizens, and one Spirit was given to us all to drink.

Gospel John 20:19-23 As the Father sent me, so am I sending you: receive the Holy Spirit

In the evening of the first day of the week, the doors were closed in the room where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, ‘Peace be with you’, and showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy when they saw the Lord, and he said to them again, ‘Peace be with you.

‘As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.’ After saying this he breathed on them and said: ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained.’

Bless the Lord, my soul! Lord God, how great you are, clothed in majesty and glory, wrapped in light as in a robe! How many are your works, O Lord!   In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your riches. Bless the Lord, my soul. All of these look to you   to give them their food in due season. You give it, they gather it up:   you open your hand, they have their fill. You take back your spirit, they die, returning to the dust from which they came. Le vrai témoignage

Lecture Actes 28, 16-20.30-31  « Paul demeura à Rome ;  il annonçait le règne de Dieu »

À notre arrivée à Rome, Paul a reçu l’autorisation d’habiter en ville avec le soldat qui le gardait. 

Trois jours après, il fit appeler les notables des Juifs. Quand ils arrivèrent, il leur dit : « Frères, moi qui n’ai rien fait contre notre peuple et les coutumes reçues de nos pères, je suis prisonnier depuis Jérusalem où j’ai été livré aux mains des Romains. Après m’avoir interrogé, ceux-ci voulaient me relâcher, puisque, dans mon cas, il n’y avait aucun motif de condamnation à mort. Mais, devant l’opposition des Juifs, j’ai été obligé de faire appel à l’empereur, sans vouloir pour autant accuser ma nation. C’est donc pour ce motif que j’ai demandé à vous voir et à vous parler, car c’est à cause de l’espérance d’Israël que je porte ces chaînes. » 

Paul demeura deux années entières dans le logement qu’il avait loué ; il accueillait tous ceux qui venaient chez lui ; il annonçait le règne de Dieu et il enseignait ce qui concerne le Seigneur Jésus Christ avec une entière assurance et sans obstacle.

Évangile Jean 21, 20-25 « C’est ce disciple qui a écrit ces choses ; son témoignage est vrai » RC

En ce temps-là, Jésus venait de dire à Pierre : « Suis-moi. » S’étant retourné, Pierre aperçoit, marchant à leur suite, le disciple que Jésus aimait. C’est lui qui, pendant le repas, s’était penché sur la poitrine de Jésus pour lui dire : « Seigneur, quel est celui qui va te livrer ? » Pierre, voyant donc ce disciple, dit à Jésus : « Et lui, Seigneur, que lui arrivera-t-il ? » Jésus lui répond : « Si je veux qu’il demeure jusqu’à ce que je vienne, que t’importe ? Toi, suis-moi. » Le bruit courut donc parmi les frères que ce disciple ne mourrait pas. Or, Jésus n’avait pas dit à Pierre qu’il ne mourrait pas, mais : « Si je veux qu’il demeure jusqu’à ce que je vienne, que t’importe ? »

C’est ce disciple qui témoigne de ces choses et qui les a écrites, et nous savons que son témoignage est vrai. 

Il y a encore beaucoup d’autres choses que Jésus a faites ; et s’il fallait écrire chacune d’elles, je pense que le monde entier ne suffirait pas pour contenir les livres que l’on écrirait.

Le droit verra ton visage, ô Seigneur. Le Seigneur est dans son temple sant, le Seigneur, dans les cieux, où il où il trône. Son regard de haut sur le monde ; Son regard met à l’épreuve les hommes mortels. Le Seigneur met à l’épreuve les justes et les méchants ; l’amoureux de la violence il déteste. Le Seigneur est juste et aime la justice ; Le juste verra son visage.

Seigneur Dieu de paix, source de toute consolation, accorde-nous le don de ton Esprit Saint. Dans un monde qui cherche la sécurité par la violence et la guerre, fais de nous le messager de ta paix. Donne-nous le courage à poursuivre paix, ton don. Fait de notre monde un meilleur endroit pour toutes tes créatures, plus particulièrement pour nous qui sommes membres du corps du Christ, votre  Église Sainte 

Seigneur Jésus-Christ merci pour ton amour et ta compassion. Jésus mon Maître, je suis ton disciple bien-aimé. Que ton amour demeure avec moi. La Vierge Marie prie pour moi. Saint Joseph prie pour moi. Les anges et les saints de Dieu prient pour moi. Mon Ange Gardien prie pour moi. Protégez-moi.

Priez votre Saint Rosaire : Je vous salue Marie. Je vous salue Vierge Mère du Christ, priez pour moi.

The True Testimony

Reading Acts 28:16-20,30-31 

In Rome, Paul proclaimed the kingdom of God without hindrance from anyone

On our arrival in Rome Paul was allowed to stay in lodgings of his own with the soldier who guarded him.

After three days he called together the leading Jews. When they had assembled, he said to them, ‘Brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans. They examined me and would have set me free, since they found me guilty of nothing involving the death penalty; but the Jews lodged an objection, and I was forced to appeal to Caesar, not that I had any accusation to make against my own nation. That is why I have asked to see you and talk to you, for it is on account of the hope of Israel that I wear this chain.’ 

Paul spent the whole of the two years in his own rented lodging. He welcomed all who came to visit him, proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ with complete freedom and without hindrance from anyone.

Gospel John 21:20-25 

This disciple is the one who vouches for these things and we know that his testimony is true CDR

Peter turned and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them – the one who had leaned on his breast at the supper and had said to him, ‘Lord, who is it that will betray you?’ Seeing him, Peter said to Jesus, ‘What about him, Lord?’ Jesus answered, ‘If I want him to stay behind till I come, what does it matter to you? You are to follow me.’ The rumour then went out among the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus had not said to Peter, ‘He will not die’, but, ‘If I want him to stay behind till I come.’

This disciple is the one who vouches for these things and has written them down, and we know that his testimony is true.

There were many other things that Jesus did; if all were written down, the world itself, I suppose, would not hold all the books that would have to be written. 

The upright shall see your face, O Lord. The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord, whose throne is in heaven. His look down on the world; his gaze tests mortal men. The Lord tests the just and the wicked; the lover of violence he hates. The Lord is just and loves justice; the upright shall see his face. 

Lord God of peace, source of all consolation grant us the gift of your Holy Spirit. In a world that seeks security through violence and war, make us messenger of your peace. Give us the courage to seek that unity, your gift. Make our world a better place for all your creatures, most especially for us who are members of Christ body, your Holy Church. 

Lord Jesus Christ thank you for your love and compassion. Jesus my Master, I am your beloved disciple. May your love abide with me. Virgin Mary pray for me. Saint Joseph pray for me. God’s Angels and Saints pray for me. My Guardian Angel pray for me. Protect me. 

Pray your Holy Rosary: Hail Mary. Hail Virgin Mother of Christ, pray for me.

« Seigneur, toi, tu sais tout : tu sais bien que je t’aime. »  

Lecture Actes 25, 13-21 « Un certain Jésus qui est mort, mais que Paul affirme être en vie »

En ces jours-là, le roi Agrippa et Bérénice vinrent à Césarée saluer le gouverneur Festus. Comme ils passaient là plusieurs jours, Festus exposa au roi la situation de Paul en disant : « Il y a ici un homme que mon prédécesseur Félix a laissé en prison. Quand je me suis trouvé à Jérusalem, les grands prêtres et les anciens des Juifs ont exposé leurs griefs contre lui en réclamant sa condamnation. J’ai répondu que les Romains n’ont pas coutume de faire la faveur de livrer qui que ce soit lorsqu’il est accusé, avant qu’il soit confronté avec ses accusateurs et puisse se défendre du chef d’accusation. Ils se sont donc retrouvés ici, et sans aucun délai, le lendemain même, j’ai siégé au tribunal et j’ai donné l’ordre d’amener cet homme. Quand ils se levèrent, les accusateurs n’ont mis à sa charge aucun des méfaits que, pour ma part, j’aurais supposés. Ils avaient seulement avec lui certains débats au sujet de leur propre religion, et au sujet d’un certain Jésus qui est mort, mais que Paul affirmait être en vie. Quant à moi, embarrassé devant la suite à donner à l’instruction, j’ai demandé à Paul s’il voulait aller à Jérusalem pour y être jugé sur cette affaire. Mais Paul a fait appel pour être gardé en prison jusqu’à la décision impériale. J’ai donc ordonné de le garder en prison jusqu’au renvoi de sa cause devant l’empereur. »

Évangile Jean 21, 15-19  « Sois le berger de mes agneaux. Sois le pasteur de mes brebis »

Jésus se manifesta encore aux disciples sur le bord de la mer de Tibériade. Quand ils eurent mangé, Jésus dit à Simon-Pierre : « Simon, fils de Jean, m’aimes-tu vraiment, plus que ceux-ci ? » Il lui répond : « Oui, Seigneur ! Toi, tu le sais : je t’aime. » Jésus lui dit : « Sois le berger de mes agneaux. » Il lui dit une deuxième fois : « Simon, fils de Jean, m’aimes-tu vraiment ? » Il lui répond : « Oui, Seigneur ! Toi, tu le sais : je t’aime. » Jésus lui dit : « Sois le pasteur de mes brebis. » Il lui dit, pour la troisième fois : « Simon, fils de Jean, m’aimes-tu ? » Pierre fut peiné parce que, la troisième fois, Jésus lui demandait : « M’aimes-tu ? » Il lui répond : « Seigneur, toi, tu sais tout : tu sais bien que je t’aime. » Jésus lui dit : « Sois le berger de mes brebis. RC

Amen, amen, je te le dis : quand tu étais jeune, tu mettais ta ceinture toi-même pour aller là où tu voulais ; quand tu seras vieux, tu étendras les mains, et c’est un autre qui te mettra ta ceinture, pour t’emmener là où tu ne voudrais pas aller. » 

Jésus disait cela pour signifier par quel genre de mort Pierre rendrait gloire à Dieu. Sur ces mots, il lui dit : « Suis-moi. »

Père céleste, mon Dieu béni soit ton Très Saint Nom. Bénis le Seigneur, ô mon âme, bénis son nom très saint, tout mon être. Bénis le Seigneur, ô mon âme, n’oublie jamais toutes ses  bienfaits. Comme le ciel domine la terre, fort est son amour pour qui le craint ; aussi loin qu’est l’orient de l’occident, il met loin de nous nos péchés.

Je t’aime Seigneur Jésus. Tu es mon Seigneur et Sauveur. Seigneur parfois je tombe, parfois je doute ton amour pour moi. Souvent, tu me demande si je t'aime vraiment car il y a des moments où mon action envers toi est un signe de mon infidélité. Cela amène à la question de savoir si je t’aime vraiment. Pardonne-moi, Seigneur, de ne pas t’aimer comme je le devrais. Remplis-moi de ton Saint-Esprit, que ton Esprit soit mon avocat, mon conseiller, mon maître. Que ton Esprit me rappelle constamment le prix que tu as payé pour ma rédemption, car tu m’aimes vraiment. Je t’aime Seigneur mon rédempteur.

Le Seigneur a son trône dans les cieux : sa royauté s’étend sur l’univers. Rendez grâce au Seigneur, à tous ses anges, invincibles porteurs de ses ordres. Psaume 102 (103)

Jésus, j’ai confiance en toi. La Vierge Marie prie pour moi. Saint Joseph prie pour moi. Les anges et les saints de Dieu prient pour moi. Mon Ange Gardien prie pour moi.

‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’

Reading Acts 25:13-21  'I ordered Paul to be remanded until I could send him to Caesar'

King Agrippa and Bernice arrived in Caesarea and paid their respects to Festus. Their visit lasted several days, and Festus put Paul’s case before the king. ‘There is a man here’ he said ‘whom Felix left behind in custody, and while I was in Jerusalem the chief priests and elders of the Jews laid information against him, demanding his condemnation. But I told them that Romans are not in the habit of surrendering any man, until the accused confronts his accusers and is given an opportunity to defend himself against the charge. So they came here with me, and I wasted no time but took my seat on the tribunal the very next day and had the man brought in. When confronted with him, his accusers did not charge him with any of the crimes I had expected; but they had some argument or other with him about their own religion and about a dead man called Jesus whom Paul alleged to be alive. Not feeling qualified to deal with questions of this sort, I asked him if he would be willing to go to Jerusalem to be tried there on this issue. But Paul put in an appeal for his case to be reserved for the judgement of the august emperor, so I ordered him to be remanded until I could send him to Caesar.’

Gospel John 21:15-19 Feed my lambs, feed my sheep

Jesus showed himself to his disciples, and after they had eaten he said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?’ He answered, ‘Yes Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ A second time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Look after my sheep.’ Then he said to him a third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was upset that he asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and said, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep. ‘I tell you most solemnly, when you were young you put on your own belt and walked where you liked; but when you grow old you will stretch out your hands, and somebody else will put a belt round you and take you where you would rather not go.’

In these words he indicated the kind of death by which Peter would give glory to God. After this he said, ‘Follow me.’

Heavenly Father, my God blessed be your Most Holy Name. My soul, give thanks to the Lord all my being, bless his holy name. My soul, give thanks to the Lord and never forget all his blessings. For as the heavens are high above the earth   so strong is his love for those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west so far does he remove our sins. Psalm 102 (103)

I love you Lord Jesus. You are my Lord and Savior. Lord sometimes I fall, sometimes I doubt your love for me. Often you ask me if I truly love you for there are times my actions towards is a sign of my unfaithfulness. This brings to the question if I truly love you. Forgive me Lord for failing to love you as I should. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, let your Spirit be my advocate, my counselor, my teacher. May your Spirit constantly remind me the price you paid for my redemption, for you truly love me. I love you Lord my redeemer.

The Lord has set his sway in heaven and his kingdom is ruling over all. Give thanks to the Lord, all his angels, mighty in power, fulfilling his word.

Jesus I trust in you. Virgin Mary pray for me. Saint Joseph pray for me. God’s Angels and Saints pray for me. My Guardian Angel pray for me.
