GLORIALITURGY

As we celebrate and offer our daily offerings in our daily Mass on God's Altar in remembrance of Christ Sacrifice, may God destroy every evil altar in our homes, families and lives.

WE ARE ALL BEGGARS

Do not look down on the man or woman by the road side or at your place of worship who ask you for alms.
Do you not know that we are no better that man or woman we consider as a beggar?

Someone asked you for help, assistance, or begged you for money: being privileged, you consider yourself better than the man or woman who need your assistance.

You have forgotten you too have begged to be in the privileged position you are in. You are still begging to remain in the privilege position you are in.  You will continue begging for your needs and aspirations. Why then do you feel you are better than the one who asked for your help?

No. you are not better than him or her. If someone approach you for assistance, say within you.  I too I am a beggar, so I must not hesitate to assist, it is within my power to do so. If I do not somebody will render the help I refused to honour.

Do not consider yourself better than anyone you think is underprivileged a beggar. No one ever achieve whatever achievement in life without the assistance of another. Above all, favour from God whom we all look up to for our sustenance, hope, dreams and aspirations.

God’s gift to some is manifold so that they too can act like HIM by giving to those whom HE has placed on our way.  Those you meet, those who come to you for help.

If you do not give to the one who asked you for help knowing it is within your ability, power and capacity, then you are holding on to something that belong to that man or woman  you  whom you consider a beggar.

Be human, have a heart of flesh, a heart full of love, a heart full of compassion, a heart full of sympathy a heart full of understanding, the heart full of mercy, and a humble heart.

We are beggars.   Gloria H.

THE CAPABLE WOMAN (WIFE)

How hare it is to find a capable wife!
She is worth far more than jewels!
Her husband puts his confidence in her,
and he will never be poor.
As long as she lives, she does him good and never harm.
She keeps herself busy making wool and linen cloth.
She brings home food from out-of-the-way places,
as merchant ships do.
She gets up before daylight to prepare food
for her family and to tell her servant women what to do.
She looks at the land and buy it, and with money she has
earned she plants vineyard.
She is a hard worker, strong and industrious. Prov. 31:10-31

DANCING IN THE LORD

 HOW DO YOU APPRECIATE GOD?

''I was dancing to honour the LORD, who chose me instead
of your father and his family to make me the leader of
his people Israel.

And I will go on dancing to honour the LORD, and will
disgrace myself even more''  2nd Samuel 6:21-22

DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND FAIR

Readings for today

The Lord controls the mind of a king as easily
as he directs the course of a stream.
You may think that everything you do is right,
but remember that the LORD judges your motives.
Do what is right and fair, that pleases the LORD
more than bringing him sacrifices.  Proverb 21:1-3

1 Kings 21:1-16 ©  HUMAN BEHAVIOUR AND CHARACTER

Ahab covets Naboth's vineyard and Jezebel has him killed

Naboth of Jezreel had a vineyard close by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria, and Ahab said to Naboth, ‘Give me your vineyard to be my vegetable garden, since it adjoins my house; I will give you a better vineyard for it or, if you prefer, I will give you its worth in money.’ But Naboth answered Ahab, ‘The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my ancestors!’
Ahab went home gloomy and out of temper at the words of Naboth of Jezreel, ‘I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.’ He lay down on his bed and turned his face away and refused to eat. His wife Jezebel came to him. ‘Why are you so dispirited’ she said ‘that you will not eat?’ He said, ‘I have been speaking to Naboth of Jezreel; I said: Give me your vineyard either for money or, if you prefer, for another vineyard in exchange. But he said, “I will not give you my vineyard.”’ Then his wife Jezebel said, ‘You make a fine king of Israel, and no mistake! Get up and eat; cheer up, and you will feel better; I will get you the vineyard of Naboth of Jezreel myself.’
So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, sending them to the elders and nobles who lived where Naboth lived. In the letters she wrote, ‘Proclaim a fast, and put Naboth in the forefront of the people. Confront him with a couple of scoundrels who will accuse him like this, “You have cursed God and the king.” Then take him outside and stone him to death.’
The men of Naboth’s town, the elders and nobles who lived in his town, did what Jezebel ordered, what was written in the letters she had sent them. They proclaimed a fast and put Naboth in the forefront of the people. Then the two scoundrels came and stood in front of him and made their accusation, ‘Naboth has cursed God and the king.’ They led him outside the town and stoned him to death. They then sent word to Jezebel, ‘Naboth has been stoned to death.’ When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned to death, she said to Ahab, ‘Get up! Take possession of the vineyard which Naboth of Jezreel would not give you for money, for Naboth is no longer alive, he is dead.’ When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he got up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth of Jezreel and take possession of it.

We must be on guard and pray for God's grace and Holy Spirit.

GOD WILL DELIVER THE INNOCENT AND RIGHTEOUS

JOB 4:1-11

When we give people words of encouragement and advice in their challenges and adversity, whenever we are faced with same problems and challenges, are we willing to accept same words of encouragement and advice we gave? Hold on to God HE will intervene.

Job, will you be annoyed if I speak?
I can't keep quiet any longer.
You have taught many people
and given strength to feeble hands.
When someone stumbled, weak and tired,
your words encouraged him to stand.
Now it's your turn to be in trouble,
and you are too stunned to face it.
You worshipped God, and your life
was blameless;
and so you should have confidence and hope.
Think back now.  Name a single case
where a righteous person met with disaster....

WISDOM

The Benefit of WISDOM  Sirach 4:11-19

Wisdom takes care of those who look for her; she raises them to greatness. Loving her is loving life itself; rising early to look for her is pure joy.  Anyone who obtains Wisdom will be greatly honoured.  wherever he goes, the Lord will bless him,  Wisdom's servants are the servants of the Holy One, and the Lord loves everyone who loves her.  Those who obey her will have sound judgements; those who pay attention to her have true security.

Put your trust in Wisdom, and you will possess her and pass her on to your descendants.  At first Wisdom will lead you along difficult paths.  She will make you so afraid that you will think you cannot go on.

The discipline she demands will be tormenting, and she will put you to the test with her requirements until she trusts you completely.  The she will come to you with no delay, reveal her secrets to you, and make you happy.  But if you go astray she will abandon you and let you go to your own ruin.

GOD'S WISDOM

Job 42:1-6

I know, LORD, that you are all powerful;
that you can do everything you want.
You ask how I dare question your wisdom
when I am so very ignorant.
I talked about things I did not understand,
about marvels too great for me to know.
You told me to listen while you spoke
and to try to answer your questions.

In the past Knew only what others had told me,
but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
So I am ashamed of all I have said and
repent in dust and ashes.

what is your knowledge of God?
Is it what people say or your own
personal encounter with HIM?
