Il portait les deux tables du Témoignage ; ces tables étaient écrites sur les deux faces ; elles étaient l’œuvre de Dieu, et l’écriture, c’était l’écriture de Dieu, gravée sur ces tables. Josué entendit le bruit et le tumulte du peuple et dit à Moïse : « Bruit de bataille dans le camp. » Moïse répliqua : « Ces bruits, ce ne sont pas des chants de victoire ni de défaite ; ce que j’entends, ce sont des cantiques qui se répondent. » Comme il approchait du camp, il aperçut le veau et les danses. Il s’enflamma de colère, il jeta les tables qu’il portait, et les brisa au bas de la montagne. These tablets were the work of God, and the writing on them was God’s writing engraved on the tablets. Joshua heard the noise of the people shouting. ‘There is the sound of battle in the camp’, he told Moses. Moses answered him: ‘No song of victory is this sound,  no wailing for defeat this sound;  it is the sound of chanting that I hear.’ As he approached the camp and saw the calf and the groups dancing, Moses’ anger blazed. He threw down the tablets he was holding and broke them at the foot of the mountain. He seized the calf they had made and burned it, grinding it into powder which he scattered on the water; and he made the sons of Israel

Dieu lui dit : « Demande ce que je dois te donner. » Salomon répondit : « Ainsi donc, Seigneur mon Dieu, c’est toi qui m’as fait roi, moi, ton serviteur, à la place de David, mon père ; or, je suis un tout jeune homme, ne sachant comment se comporter, et me voilà au milieu du peuple que tu as élu ; c’est un peuple nombreux, si nombreux qu’on ne peut ni l’évaluer ni le compter. SAMEDI 16 SEMAINE DU TEMPS ORDINAIRE  SAINTS MARTHE, MARIE ET LAZARE Je suis la résurrection et la vie Lecture Exode 24, 3-8 « Voici le sang de l’Alliance que le Seigneur a conclue avec vous » En ces jours-là, descendant du Sinaï, Moïse vint rapporter au peuple toutes les paroles du Seigneur et toutes ses ordonnances. Tout le peuple répondit d’une seule voix : « Toutes ces paroles que le Seigneur a dites, nous les mettrons en pratique. » Moïse écrivit toutes les paroles du Seigneur. JEUDI 16 SEMAINE DU TEMPS ORDINAIRE PEE « Pourquoi leur parles-tu en paraboles ? » Lecture Exode 19, 1-2.9-11.16-20b  « En présence de tout le peuple,  le Seigneur descendra sur la montagne du Sinaï » Le troisième mois qui suivit la sortie d’Égypte, jour pour jour, les fils d’Israël arrivèrent dans le désert du Sinaï. Dans le désert, toute la communauté des fils d’Israël récriminait contre Moïse et son frère Aaron. Les fils d’Israël leur dirent : « Ah ! Il aurait mieux valu mourir de la main du Seigneur, au pays d’Égypte, quand nous étions assis près des marmites de viande, quand nous mangions du pain à satiété ! Vous nous avez fait sortir dans ce désert pour faire mourir de faim tout ce peuple assemblé ! » Le Seigneur dit à Moïse : « Voici que, du ciel, je vais faire pleuvoir du pain pour vous. Le peuple sortira pour recueillir chaque jour sa ration quotidienne, et ainsi je vais le mettre à l’épreuve : je verrai s’il marchera
