ORDINARY TIME AND LENT YEAR C

Image
SECOND SUNDAY TO FIFTH SUNDAY IN  ORDINARY TIME 2nd Sunday in ordinary time Gospel was on the Wedding in Cana of Galilee where Jesus, and his mother were invited.  His first miracle was performed by the request of his Holy Mother. I believe Jesus want us to know the importance of obedience to out parents and equally to let us know that he will do anything for us if we get his mother involved. 3rd Sunday Jesus by reading the book of Isaiah in the synagogue showed us his manifestos (his plan of Action).  This he began in collaboration with the Holy Spirit. 4th Sunday Jesus met with opposition from the elders and his own people who under estimated his power, his  capability, and his ability. We too are expected to be opened in receiving the word of God, if we are bias because we are familiar with who ever God have appointed to lead us, we will miss out.  It equally applies to our ordinary lives in dealing with each other and having respect for

BAPTISM OF THE LORD

THE LORD'S BAPTISM Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one with whom I am pleased, upon whom I have put my spirit; he shall bring forth justice to the nations. Isaiah 42:1 Recently we celebrated the visitation of the three wise men from the east to Jesus Christ,  the new born king ( EPIPHANY ).  The fulfillment of the prophecy by the prophets.  Today we are celebrating the baptism of Our Lord.  In his baptism God the Father affirmed  that Christ is his Son, and the Holy Spirit confirmed God's declaration by descending on HIM as a dove. Anyone who encounters Christ does not remain the same.  This we saw beginning with Elizabeth when Mary paid her a visit after the annunciation by the angel,  the shepherds, the three wise men, his ministry, his death, his resurrection, our present world. Jesus yesterday, Jesus today, Jesus forever.  His kingdom is everlasting. The Catholic liturgical calendar for the year of Mercy is Year C.  Monday the 11th is the beg

EPIPHANY

EPIPHANY  We know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know the true.  We are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ.  He is the true God and eternal life.  1John 5:20   In times past, God spoke in partial ways to our ancestors through the prophets.  In these last days, he spoke to us through a Son, whom he made heir of all things and through whom he created the universe. Heb:1-2 In the Octave of Christmas we celebrated the Solemnity; (Jan. 1st) Mary, the Mother of God She is the mother of the Church and mother to all Christians those who have accepted Christ as their  Lord and Saviour. My blog is in honour of her as a woman blessed among women.  Her YES. What does this mean to you,  the salvation of  mankind. Do you consider yourself lucky to be called sons and daughters of God our Heavenly Father? 'Marvellous is the mystery proclaimed today: man's nature is made new as God becomes man; he remains what he was and become

PRAYER FOR 1ST JANUARY 2016

Image
Be good to me, your servant, so that I may live and obey your teachings.   Open my eyes, so that I may see the wonderful truths in your law. Thoughts of Solitude My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.   I cannot see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end.   Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.   But I believe that the desire to please you does, in fact, please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.   And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, will I trust you always, though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. Prayer   Heavenly Father, let me feel close to Thee.   G
