Tuesday, Week 17 in Ordinary Time: 'Listen, anyone who has ears!’

First Reading Jeremiah 14:17-22 We confess our wickedness; you, God, are our hope

The Lord said to me: Say this word to the people: ‘Tears flood my eyes night and day, unceasingly, since a crushing blow falls on the daughter of my people, a most grievous injury. If I go into the countryside, there lie men killed by the sword; if I go into the city, I see people sick with hunger; even prophets and priests plough the land: they are at their wit’s end.’

‘Have you rejected Judah altogether? Does your very soul revolt at Zion? Why have you struck us down without hope of cure? We were hoping for peace – no good came of it! For the moment of cure – nothing but terror! Lord, we do confess our wickedness and our fathers’ guilt: we have indeed sinned against you. For your name’s sake do not reject us, do not dishonour the throne of your glory. Remember us; do not break your covenant with us. Can any of the pagan Nothings make it rain? Can the heavens produce showers? No, it is you, Lord. O our God, you are our hope, since it is you who do all this.

Responsorial Psalm: Rescue us, O Lord, for the glory of your name.

Gospel Matthiew 13:36-43 As the darnel is gathered up and burnt, so it will be at the end of time

Leaving the crowds, Jesus went to the house; and his disciples came to him and said, ‘Explain the parable about the darnel in the field to us.’ He said in reply, ‘The sower of the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world; the good seed is the subjects of the kingdom; the darnel, the subjects of the evil one; the enemy who sowed them, the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the reapers are the angels. Well then, just as the darnel is gathered up and burnt in the fire, so it will be at the end of time. The Son of Man will send his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that provoke offences and all who do evil, and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth. Then the virtuous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Listen, anyone who has ears!’

My Father, my God, you are our hope.  We confess our guilt. For the sake of your name, bring us back to you. At the end of our earthly journey, we will surely reap what we have sown. Help us sow good seeds. Lord by our own efforts we cannot. Father by your grace we can. Our desire is to be with you in your kingdom when our earthly joy come to an end.  '

Jesus, I trust in your mercy. Lord, open my ears to hear your words. Open my heart that your words may  dwell in me. I want to bear good fruits to the glory of God. Virgin Mary, pray for me. Saint Joseph, pray for me. My Angel guardian, pray for me.

Pray the Holy Rosary: Hail Mary full of grace.

Évangile Matthieu 13, 36-43
«Tout comme l'ivraie est ramassée et brûlée, il en sera ainsi à la fin des temps. »

Laissant les foules, Jésus vint à la maison. Ses disciples s’approchèrent et lui dirent : « Explique-nous clairement la parabole de l’ivraie dans le champ. » Il leur répondit : « Celui qui sème le bon grain, c’est le Fils de l’homme ; le champ, c’est le monde ; le bon grain, ce sont les fils du Royaume ; l’ivraie, ce sont les fils du Mauvais. L’ennemi qui l’a semée, c’est le diable ; la moisson, c’est la fin du monde ; les moissonneurs, ce sont les anges. De même que l’on enlève l’ivraie pour la jeter au feu, ainsi en sera-t-il à la fin du monde. Le Fils de l’homme enverra ses anges, et ils enlèveront de son Royaume toutes les causes de chute et ceux qui font le mal ; ils les jetteront dans la fournaise : là, il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents.

Alors les justes resplendiront comme le soleil dans le royaume de leur Père. Celui qui a des oreilles, qu’il entende ! »

’Mon Père, mon Dieu, tu es notre espérance. Nous confessons notre faute. Pour l'amour de ton nom, ramène-nous à toi. Au terme de notre pèlerinage terrestre, nous récolterons assurément ce que nous avons semé. Aide-nous à semer de bonnes graines. Seigneur, sans toi, nous ne pouvons pas.  Père, par ta grâce, c'est possible. Notre désir est d'être avec toi dans ton Royaume à la fin de notre exixtence.

Jésus, j'ai confiance en ta miséricorde. Seigneur, ouvre mes oreilles pour entendre tes paroles. Ouvre mon cœur afin que tes paroles demeurent en moi. Je veux porter de bons fruits pour la gloire de Dieu. Vierge Marie, prie pour moi. Saint Joseph, prie pour moi. Mon Ange gardien, prie pour moi.

Priez le saint Rosaire : Je vous salue, Marie, pleine de grâce.
