THURSDAY WEEK 24 IN ORDINARY TIME: BEHOLD THY MOTHER

Reading Hebrew 5:7-9 

He learned to obey and he became the source of eternal salvation

During his life on earth, Christ offered up prayer and entreaty, aloud and in silent tears, to the one who had the power to save him out of death, and he submitted so humbly that his prayer was heard. Although he was Son, he learnt to obey through suffering; but having been made perfect, he became for all who obey him the source of eternal salvation. Readings Reflection

Gospel John 19:25-27 'Woman, this is your son'

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple he said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home.

As we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, may she pray for you while wishing you a happy birthday.

Lord Jesus Christ I trust in you. Virgin Mary pray for me. Saint Joseph pray for me. God's Holy Angels and Saints pray for me. My Angel Guardian pray for me. Protect and defend me. Guide and guard me.

Lecture Hébreux 5, 7-9  « Il a appris l’obéissance et il est devenu la cause du salut éternel »

Le Christ, pendant les jours de sa vie dans la chair, offrit, avec un grand cri et dans les larmes, des prières et des supplications à Dieu qui pouvait le sauver de la mort, et il fut exaucé en raison de son grand respect. Bien qu’il soit le Fils, il apprit par ses souffrances l’obéissance et, conduit à sa perfection, il est devenu pour tous ceux qui lui obéissent la cause du salut éternel. Lectures Meditation

 

Évangile  Jean 19, 25-27 « Femme, voici ton fils. »

Près de la croix de Jésus se tenaient sa mère et la sœur de sa mère, Marie, femme de Cléophas, et Marie Madeleine. Jésus, voyant sa mère, et près d’elle le disciple qu’il aimait, dit à sa mère : « Femme, voici ton fils. » Puis il dit au disciple : « Voici ta mère. » Et à partir de cette heure-là, le disciple la prit chez lui.

Alors que nous célébrons la fête de Notre-Dame des Douleurs, qu’elle priez pour vous en vous souhaitant un joyeux anniversaire.

Seigneur Jésus-Christ j’ai confiance en toi. La Vierge Marie prie pour moi. Saint Joseph prie pour moi. Les saints anges et saints de Dieu prient pour moi. Mon Ange Gardien prie pour moi. Protégez-moi et défendez-moi. Guidez-moi et gardez-moi.
