DO NOT SPEAK IN HIS NAME

THURSDAY SECOND WEEK OF EASTER: GOD ENTRUSTED EVERYTHING TO CHRIST

First Reading Acts 5:27-33

We are witnesses to all this, we and the Holy Spirit

When the officials had brought the apostles in to face the Sanhedrin, the high priest demanded an explanation. ‘We gave you a formal warning’ he said ‘not to preach in this name, and what have you done? You have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and seem determined to fix the guilt of this man’s death on us.’ In reply Peter and the apostles said, ‘Obedience to God comes before obedience to men; it was the God of our ancestors who raised up Jesus, but it was you who had him executed by hanging on a tree. By his own right hand God has now raised him up to be leader and saviour, to give repentance and forgiveness of sins through him to Israel. We are witnesses to all this, we and the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.’

This so infuriated them that they wanted to put them to death.

Gospel John 3:31-36  The Father loves the Son and has entrusted everything to him

John the Baptist said to his disciples:

‘He who comes from above is above all others;
he who is born of the earth is earthly himself
and speaks in an earthly way.

He who comes from heaven
bears witness to the things he has seen and heard,
even if his testimony is not accepted;
though all who do accept his testimony
are attesting the truthfulness of God,
since he whom God has sent
speaks God’s own words:

God gives him the Spirit without reserve.
The Father loves the Son
and has entrusted everything to him.
Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life,
but anyone who refuses to believe in the Son will never see life:
the anger of God stays on him

Loving Father, fury is deadly, unhealthy for the spirit, soul, mind, and body. It is an exhibition of jealousy, anger, hatred,  insecurity, that leads to lies, wickedness and evil.  Father deliver me, fill me with your Holy Spirit.

Loving Father there are people who get angry at the mention of the name of your Son Jesus Christ. There are some who live in denial they say Jesus Christ is a myth that Christ birth never happened. Some do not respect His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, yet they would'nt want any to disrespect their mothers.

Ready to believe lies and living in denial, your Holy Spirit speaks to our spirits and souls to convince us. Arrogance prevents us from accepting the truth. Father truth is truth. Truth can never hide. In the midst of denial - foolishness and evil are exposed. In our world today,  denial persists,  we experience it. Yet they do not believe in your Son Jesus Christ, some say it is a myth.

Holy Spirit, Spirit of God be our inspiration, teacher and guide. Make us witnesses of the true God, and His Son Jesus Christ for we will speak in His Holy Name. We believe in God, we believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God Most High.

Lord Jesus Christ I trust in you. Virgin Mary pray for me. Saint Joseph pray for me. God's Holy Angels pray for me. My Angel Guardian pray for me. Guide and guard me. Be my protection.

Pray the Holy Rosary. Ave Maria. Hail Mary. Hail Holy Queen.

Your Birthday Saints: Sts. St. Louis Grignion de Manfort, Priest. St. Peter Chanel, Priest and Martyr. St. Gianna Beretta Molla, Laywoman and St. Pius V, Pope. May they pray for you as you celebrate your birthday today. May they pray for us also.

GOD'S GIFTS

GOD'S GIFT Mathew 25:14-30 Jesus spoke this parable to his disciples: ‘The kingdom of Heaven is like a man on his way abroad who summoned his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one; each in proportion to his ability. Then he set out. ‘The man who had received the five talents promptly went and traded with them and made five more. The man who had received two made two more in the same way. But the man who had received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. ‘Now a long time after, the master of those servants came back and went through his accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents came forward bringing five more. “Sir,” he said “you entrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made.” ‘His master said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have shown you can be faithful in small things, I will trust you with greater; co...

HE EXISTED BEFORE ME

First Reading 1 John 2:22-28 The anointing he gave you teaches you everything The man who denies that Jesus is the Christ  he is the liar, he is Antichrist; and he is denying the Father as well as the Son, because no one who has the Father can deny the Son, and to acknowledge the Son is to have the Father as well. Keep alive in yourselves what you were taught in the beginning: as long as what you were taught in the beginning is alive in you, you will live in the Son and in the Father; and what is promised to you by his own promise is eternal life. This is all that I am writing to you about the people who are trying to lead you astray. But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; the anointing he gave teaches you everything; you are anointed with truth, not with a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him. Live in Christ, then, my children, so that if he appears, we may have full confidence, and not turn from him...

BE CURED

Prayer before Mass:  Almighty and ever-living God, I approach the sacrament of Your only-begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. I come sick to the doctor of life, unclean to the fountain of mercy, blind to the radiance of eternal light, and poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth. Lord, in Your great generosity, heal my sickness, wash away my defilement, enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness. May I receive the Bread of Angels, the King of kings and Lord of lords, with humble reverence, with the purity and faith, the repentance and love, and the determined purpose that will help   to bring me to salvation.  May I receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood, and its reality and power.  Kind God, may I receive the Body of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, born from the womb of the Virgin Mary, and so be received into His mystical body and numbered among His members.  Loving Father, as on my earthly pilgrima...
