SAINTS SIMON AND JUDE, APOSTLES

PRAYER BEFORE MASS
THURSDAY 30TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
Go before us O Lord, in this our sacrifice of Prayer and Praise, and grant that we say and sing with our lips we may believe in our hearts, and practice and show forth in our daily lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER AFTER MASS Bless, O Lord, our hearts and minds, and grant that as we leave Your house, we may continue to be aware of Your presence. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. by Saint John Berchmans, Patron Saint of Altar Boys  Readings Lectures Reflection Sts. Simon & Jude

First Reading Ephesians 2:19-22
In Christ you are no longer aliens but citizens like us
You are no longer aliens or foreign visitors: you are citizens like all the saints, and part of God’s household. You are part of a building that has the apostles and prophets for its foundations, and Christ Jesus himself for its main cornerstone. As every structure is aligned on him, all grow into one holy temple in the Lord; and you too, in him, are being built into a house where God lives, in the Spirit.

Responsorial Psalm
Their word goes forth though all the earth
Gospel Acclamation
Alleluia, alleluia!
We praise you, O God,
we acknowledge you to be the Lord.
The glorious company of the apostles praise you, O Lord.
Alleluia!  cf Te Deum:

Gospel Luke 6:12-16
Jesus chooses his twelve apostles
Jesus went out into the hills to pray; and he spent the whole night in prayer to God. When day came he summoned his disciples and picked out twelve of them; he called them ‘apostles’: Simon whom he called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon called the Zealot, Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot who became a traitor.

Heavenly Father our God, we praise you, we acknowledge you to be the Lord. The glorious company of the apostles praise you, O Lord. Father accept all our praise, thanksgiving, worship and adoration. We join the host angels, and the apostles in worship as we bow before your throne our Father and our God.

Lord Jesus Christ I trust in you. Virgin Mary Queen of Apostles pray for us. Saint Joseph pray for us, Saints Simon and Jude pray for us. God's holy angels pray for us. My guardian angel pray for me, protect me, guide and guard me.
