THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION

Hearing that John had been arrested Jesus went back to Galilee, and
leaving Nazareth he went settled in Capernaum, a lakeside town
on the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali.  In this way the prophecy of Isaiah was to be fulfilled.

 'Land of Zebulun! Land of Naphtali! Way of the sea on the far side
of Jordan, Galilee of the nations! The people that lived in darkness
has seen a great light; on those who dwell in the land and shadow
of death a light has dawned.'

'Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. 'And they left their nets at once and followed him. 

Lord Jesus Christ my Lord and Master, each day you are calling me to follow.  I am like the deaf who cannot hear your voice.  Open my ear that I may hear your calling that I may follow you. Give me the courage to lay down every burden that is making it impossible for me to follow you my Lord and Master. Psalm 27

Prayer before Mass:  Almighty and ever-living God, I approach the sacrament of Your only-begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. I come sick to the doctor of life, unclean to the fountain of mercy, blind to the radiance of eternal light, and poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth. Lord, in Your great generosity, heal my sickness, wash away my defilement, enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness.
