SOLEMNITY OF CHRIST THE KING
CHRIST THE KING - LAST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
MY PRAYER
That each
day I draw closer to you Lord
That each
day my heart be like that of my Lord Jesus Christ
That each
day cares and worries do
not take
control of my life
That each
day my knowledge of you increases
That each
day I see you in all creatures
That each
day I grow in humility.
My prayer
to you Lord that I am what you desire me to be.

LAST
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
CHRIST THE KING
Invitatory: Lord,
open my lips
Ant. Come,
let us worship Christ, the King of kings
Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Alleluia
Ant. A man will
come whose name is the Dayspring;
from
his throne he will rule over all; he will speak of peace to the nations
Psalm 63:2-9 A
soul thirsting for God
O God, you are my God; at dawn I seek you, for you my soul is thirsting.
For you my flesh is pining, like a dry, weary land without water.
I have come before you in the holy place, to behold your strength and
your glory.
Your loving mercy is better than life, my lips will speak your praise.
I will bless you all my life, in your name I will lift up my hand.
My soul shall be filled as with a banquet; with joyful my mouth shall
praise you.
When I remember you upon my bed, I muse on you through the watches of
the night.
For you have been my strength, in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me.
Ant. 2 They
will sing his priases to the ends of the earth, and he will be their peace
Cant. Daniel 3:57-86
Bless the Lord, all you works of the Lord, praise and highly exalt him
for ever.
Heavens, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt him for ever.
Angels of the Lord, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt him for
ever.
All waters above the heavens, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt
him for ever.
All powers of the Lord, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt him for
ever.
Sun and moon, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt him for ever.
Stars of heaven, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt him for ever.
Every shower and dew, bless the Lord, praise and highly exalt him for ever……
Ant. 3 The
Lord will give him power and honour and kingship; all peoples,
tribes and nations will serve him
Psalm 149
Sing a new song to the Lord, his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel rejoice in its Maker, let Zion’s children exult in their
king.
Let them praise his name with dancing, and make music with timbrel and
harp.
For the Lord takes delight in his people, he crowns the poor with
salvation.
Let the faithful rejoice in glory, shout with joy on their couches.
Let the praise of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their
hand.
Reflection: Eph.
4: 15-16
Living the truth in love, we should grow in every way
into him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held
together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each
part, brings about the body’s growth and builds itself up in love.
Responsory: Your
Saints, O Lord, will tell of the glory of your kingdom.
Benedictus
Ant: He fashioned us into a kingdom for
the glory of his God and Father; he is
the
firstbone of the
dead and the leader of all the kings of the earth, alleluia
Prayer: Almighty and merciful God, you
break the power of evil and make all things new in
your Son Jesus
Christ, the king of the universe. May
all in heaven and earth proclaim
your glory
and never cease to praise you. We ask
this through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you and
the Holy Spirit, on God, for ever and ever.
