FIRST WEEK OF LENT
Today is holy to the Lord your God. Do not be sad, and do not weep; for today is holy to our Lord. Do not be saddened this day, for rejoicing in the Lord must be your strength. Neh. 8:9

In our
lives, most time we blame God for our problems, and sufferings. We do not want to accept the consequences of
our actions. To us God is unjust. Like Adam, Eve, the Israelite, believing we
are wise we make our choices even when we know that every choice we make in our
lives have their consequences.
When we
make wrong decisions, and we are required to bear the consequences of our
actions, we accuse God of being unjust.
If we look
inward, do some soul searching to discover God and have personal relationship
with him, we will discover that He is ever loving, waiting for us to come back
to our senses, sad, unhappy for the wrong choice we made while waiting for us. He never leaves us or abandon us. We must learn from the choice we made. He
allows us to, for it is only through this process we are refined.
This is the
only path that will lead to our healing both spiritual and physical, and our
reconciliation to GOD our Father.
He gave us
two choices of which we must choose ‘LIFE or DEATH’, or ‘GOOD or EVIL’. The choice is ours. To have life we must do good and avoid
evil. We must flee from EVIL. It is very destructive it brings death both
physical and spiritual.
GOD is
good, he is a loving Father. He made us
in his image and likeness, GOODNESS that is why he delight in his creatures,
and we know that for in Genesis we were told that everything created by GOD is
good so also man.
The prayers
selected from the Holy Bible are soul searching prayers unique in the sense
that it is not the normal psalms. This
is to enable us search our hearts, appreciate God for his goodness and love
instead of blaming God for what we are experiencing, we should search our hearts,
ask him to heal us, thank HIM for loving us despite our weakness.
When we are
healed both spiritual and physical, we will enjoy God's blessings and HIS
promises to us fulfilled here on earth, and to be with HIM when he calls us
back home. by HINGE
