As a dear longs for a stream of cool water,
So I long for you, O God.
I thirst for you, the living God.
When can I go and worship in your presence?
Day and night I cry, and tears are my only food.
My heart
breaks when I remember the past,
when I went
with the crowds to the house of God,
Why am I so
sad?
Why am I so
troubled?
I will put my
hope in God, and once again I will praise him,
My saviour
and my God.
Father, fill me with your Holy
Spirit and set my heart ablaze with your love.
Morning Prayer (Psalm 121)
I lift up my eyes towards the mountains
Whence shall my help come?
My help is from the Lord who made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer my (your) foot to slip;
He slumbers not, He who guides me (you)
The guardian of Israel;
The Lord is my (your) guardian,
The Lord is my (your) shade.
The sun shall not harm me (you) by day.
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will guard me (you) from all evil.
He will guard my (your) life.
The Lord will guard my (your) coming and going.
Both now and for evermore.
AMEN
Prayer
Lord help me become more confident in your goodness
and content to let things unfold according to your will. Give me the courage to
persist in my prayer, even as you give me the peace of knowing that you will
work things out for my good.
